Ajax beats Celta Vigo 3-2 while Standard Liege beats Panathinaikos 0-3 on away

Ajax beat Celta de Vigo 3-2 while Standard Liege beat Panathinaikos 0-3 on away in the fourth round of Group G of Europa League.

Ajax dominated most of the first half and shortly before halftime, Bertrand Traore found Kasper Dolberg, who made a move around a Celta de Vigo defender, before he kicked the ball into goal and Ajax in the lead with 1-0, which was also the score at halftime.

About 20 minutes into the second half, Bertrand Traore was yet again the playmaker as he found a completely free Hakim Ziyech, who easily sent the ball into goal and increased the lead to 2-0.

Just three minutes later, Amin Younes made a good run with the ball across the box, before he kicked a flat ball into goal and thus increased Ajax’ lead to 3-0.

With about ten minutes lef of the match, Iago Aspas sent a long ball John Guidetti, who sent the ball into goal and thus reduced the score to 3-1.

About seven minutes later, Iago Aspas sent the ball into goal and reduced the score further to 3-2, which was also the final result of the match.

Standard Liege played Panathinaikos on away. Neither of the team managed to score in the first half and thus it ended with a 0-0 draw.

About a quarter of an hour into the second half, Ibrahima Cisse sent the ball into goal and Standard Liege in the lead with 0-1. About half an hour into the half, Ishak Belfodil sent the ball into goal and doubled the lead to 0-2.

A minute later, Paul-Jose M’Poku received his second yellow card in the match and was thus sent off the pitch.

In the last minutes of the match, Ishak Belfodil sent the ball into goal and secured Standard Liege a 0-3 victory.

With tonight’s results, Ajax is currently in first place og Group G with ten points in four matches, while Standard Liege and Celta de Vigo each have five points.
