Anderlecht beats Mainz 6-1 while Saint Etienne beats FK Qabala 1-2 on away

Thursday evening, Mainz received quite the kicking as Anderlecht beat them 6-1 in Group C of Europa League. Saint Etienne faced off against Qabala on away and won 1-2.

It only took Anderlecht nine minutes to get the goal feast going. Nicolae Stanciu kicked the ball into goal and Anderlecht in the lead with 1-0. A quarter of an hour into the half, Pablo De Blasis sent the ball into goal and thus settled the score to 1-1 for Mainz. With less than five minutes left of the half, Nicolae Stanciu sent the ball into goal and secured Anderlecht a 2-1 lead at halftime.

About a quarter of an hour into the second half, Youri Tielemans sent the ball into goal and increased Anderlecht’s lead to 3-1.

With just minutes left of the match, Lukasz Teodorczyk sent the ball into goal and further increased the lead to 4-1. A minute later, Massimo Bruno sent the ball into goal and increased the lead to 5-1, but Anderlecht was not quite done just yet. In the overtime, Anderlecht received a penalty which Lukasz Teodorczyk scored on and increased the lead to 6-1, which was also the final result of the match.

Saint Etienne faced off against FK Qabala on away. With less than ten minutes left of the first half, Ruslan Gurbanov sent the ball into goal and FK Qabala in the lead with 1-0, but a few minutes later, Oussama Tannane managed to settle the score to 1-1.

Eight minutes into the second half, Robert Beric sent the ball into goal and Saint Etienne in the lead with 1-2, which was also the final result of the match.

With tonight’s results, Saint Etienne is currently in first place of Group C with eight points, while Anderlecht is in second also with eight points. Mainz is currently in third place with five points, while FK Qabala is at the bottom without a single point.
