Athletic Bilbao beats Genk 5-3 while Sassuolo and Rapid Wien draw 2-2

Aritz Aduriz scored all five of Ahtletic Bilbao’s goal in the 5-3 victory against Genk, while Sassuolo and Rapid Wien drew 2-2. Here are the results from Group F of Europa League.

Aritz AdurizThursday evening, the fourth round Europa League was played. In Group F, Athletic Bilbao played Genk at home while Sassuolo faced off against Rapid Wien also at home.

Athletic Bilbao faced off against Genk and it only took eight minutes to get things going. Eight minutes into the first half, Aritz Aduriz sent the ball into goal and Athletic Bilbao in the lead with 1-0. About a quarter of an hour later, Athletic Bilbao received a penalty, which Aritz Aduriz scored on and thus doubled Athletic Bilbao’s lead to 2-0.

Four minutes later, Leon Bailey managed to sent the ball into goal and reduce the score to 2-1. A quarter of an hour later, Athletic Bilbao received another penalty which Aritz Aduriz scored on again and secured Athletic Bilbao a 3-1 lead at halftime.

Just five minutes into the second half, Onyinye Ndidi sent the ball into goal and reduced the score to 3-2. About a quarter of an hour later, Aritz Aduriz sent the ball into goal and increased Athletic Bilbao’s lead to 4-2. Five minutes later though, Tino-Sven Susic sent the ball into goal and reduced the score to 4-3.

In the last minutes of the match, Athletic Bilbao received another penalty, which Aritz Aduriz yet again scored on and increased the lead to 5-3, which was also the final result of the match.

Elsewhere Sassuolo faced off against Rapid Wien. About half an hour into the first half, Gregoire Defrel sent the ball into goal and Sassuolo in the lead with 1-0. In the last minutes of the half, Lorenzo Pellegrini sent the ball into goal and secured Sassuolo a 2-0 lead at halftime.

In the last minutes of the second half, Rapid Wien, however, managed to reduce and settle the score as Matej Jelic and Giorgi Kvilitaia sent the ball into goal and secured a 2-2 draw.

With the results today, Genk is currently in first place, while Athletic Bilbao is in second. Both with six points in four matches, while Rapid Wien in third and Sassuolo in fourth both have five points in four matches.
