Tuesday evening, Manchester City and FC Barcelona are facing off in a Champions League showdown. Barcelona won the first leg at home with 4-0. Ahead of the match, the two managers are preparing.
Manchester City has been through a rough period with a loosing streak, but all that changed as they beat West Bromwich 4-0. Pep Guardiola is preparing for the Champions League match as if it were a final and he is convinced that his team can win the showdown.
-We will try. I have never had the thought that we could not win a football match, and I never will. It will be difficult, and we know we have to play an almost perfect match to win, Pep Guardiola said according to Sky Sports.
-We have to show courage and give everything in the match, and hopefully our quality can make the difference. It is not like a final for them, but it is for us. There are three matches left, and since we lost points in Glasgow, we must get points now.
Luis Enrique is also preparing for the match and acknowledges that Guardiola can and probably will make it difficult on him.
-I am sure, Guardiola holds the key to making it difficult for us. In three months, he has managed to integrate his identity into the team, and they will definitely grow from it. They are getting better each month, Luis Enrique said to Barcelona’s website.
-We have to make a big effort and be efficient both with and without the ball. The key is to limit their time to think, so they can hold too strong onto the ball.
Ahead of the match, Barcelona is in first place of the group with nine points, while Manchester City is in second with four points.
