Udinese beats Palermo 1-3 on away
Thursday evening, Udinese faced off against Palermo on away in a Serie A showdown and won 1-3. Seko Fofana scored twice, while Cyril Thereau delivered a single goal. Ilija Nestorovski scored Palermo’s only goal.
Thursday evening, Palermo played Udinese at home in a Serie A match. Neither of the teams have had a great start to the Serie A season. Especially Palermo needed a victory in the bottom of the table.
Just ten minutes into the first half, Ilija Nestorovski sent the ball into goal and Palermo in the lead with 1-0. The lead lasted about half an hour until Cyril Thereau sent the ball into goal and thus settled the score to 1-1, which was also the score at halftime.
About half an hour into the second half, the former Manchester City talent Seko Fofane kicked the ball into the corner of the goal and thus sent Udinese in the lead with 1-2.
Just two minutes later, Seko Fofane sent the ball into goal and increased Udinese’s lead to 1-3, which was also the final result of the match.
With less than ten minutes left of the match, Roland Sallai received his second yellow card in the match and was thus given a red card and sent off the pitch.
With the victory tonight, Udinese moves up into 12th place of the Serie A table with 13 points in 10 matches, just below Fiorentina in 11th place, also with 13 points but in only nine matches and just above Bologna in 13th place, also with 13 points also in ten matches, but with a lesser goal-score.
Palermo who really needed the victory tonight is currently under the relegation line, second from the bottom with just six points in ten matches, just below Empoli also with six points in ten matches but with a higher goal-score and just above promoted Crotone at the very bottom with just two points in ten matches. Palermo is currently only a single point below the relegation line, while Pescara is just above the line.
