Yannick Carrasco scores a hat-trick as Atletico Madrid beats Granada 7-1

Saturday evening, Atletico Madrid played Granada in a La Liga match and won 6-1. Yannick Carrasco scored a hat-trick, while Nicolas Gaitan scored twice. Angel Correa and Tiago each scored a single goal for Atletico Madrid, while Isaac Cuenca scored Granada’s only goal.

yannick-carrascoSaturday evening, Atletico Madrid faced off against Granada at Estadio Vicente Calderon in Madrid. Ahead of the match, Atletico Madrid needed a victory to try and add to their lead, while Granada desperately needed a victory at the very bottom of La Liga.

About 20 minutes into the first half, Granada’s Isaac Cuenca sent the ball into goal and Granada in the lead with 0-1. The lead, however, only lasted a quarter of an hour.

About half an hour into the first half, Yannick Carrasco sent the ball into goal and settled the score to 1-1 for Atletico Madrid. In the last minutes of the first half, Yannick Carrasco scored his second goal of the match and sent Atletico Madrid in the lead with 2-1, which was also the score at halftime.

About a quarter of an hour into the second half, Yannick Carrasco once again sent the ball into goal and thus scored a hat-trick and increased Atletico Madrid’s lead to 3-1.

A couple of minutes later, Nicolas Gaitan sent the ball into goal and scored the first of two goals, while increasing the lead to 4-1. With less than ten minutes left of the match, he scored his second goal, increasing the lead to 5-1.

Four minutes later, Angel Correa sent the ball into goal and increased Atletico Madrid’s lead to 6-1, while Tiago sent the ball into goal in the very last minutes of the match, increasing the lead to 7-1, which was also the final result of the match.

With the victory today, Atletico Madrid is currently in first place of La Liga with 18 points in eight matches, just above Sevilla with 17 points in eight matches.

Granada remains at the bottom of La Liga with only two points in eight matches.
